At the beginning of the weekend trip by bus you go Širvintos. Every year, the Christmas tree of Širvintos competes with the Christmas trees of big cities. A couple years back, a twelve-meter Christmas tree shone in Širvintos Square, which was decorated with huge red ribbons and toys and bright yellow lights. Such colors were chosen specifically in order for the tree to bring coziness and warmth,. Such colors are always associated with cozy Christmas: green tree, red Santa Claus and yellow lights. Also, the tree was guarded by a huge white bear and an installation of Santa's sleigh with reindeers.
After viewing the Christmas tree in Širvintos, you will continue your one-day trip in Ukmergė. Ukmergė Christmas tree was one of the last to lit up. When the day came, not only the tree was lit up, but also the whole town. The city was decorated like a magical forest with all its inhabitants: bears, mooses and other inhabitants of the forest. Last year, the theme of the Christmas tree, same as in Širvintos, was chosen to be warmth and coziness, so that during the quarantine period, people would postpone noisy events and celebrate Christmas in a cozy family circle.
During the weekend bus trip you will continue the Christmas tree tour in Jonava. Previously, the people of Jonava welcomed Christmas with the slogan "Let's light up Christmas!" Given the chosen motto, it is surprising that the theme of the tree was calm, light and warmth. Also, for the second year in a row, a unique project took place - the town of Christmas trees, where more than 70 trees were lit up.
You will continue the tour in Kaunas. A couple years back Kaunas Christmas tree looked like a sweet cake decorated with morels or whipped cream and the holiday slogan was "Sweet, sweet Christmas in Kaunas". The people of Kaunas decorated their 25-meter-high Christmas tree with garlands and heavenly figures that look like cotton candy. In the square, near the Christmas tree, there was sugar lambs and clouds, which only enhanced the feeling of sweetness.
Next, you will travel to the city of Kaišiadoriai, where the Christmas tree decorations a couple years back were related to the city's 430th birthday.. Attention was paid not only to one of the most beautiful holidays of the year, but also to the Christian history of the city of Kaišiadoriai. This towns holiday slogan was "Jingle, Kaišiadoriai". Music connects the city of Kaišiadoriai and Christmas Eve. The tree was decorated with garlands and musical symbols. Given the quarantine restrictions, there was only a Christmas tree in the square to avoid gatherings and was lit without announcing the time.
After admiring the tree, taking pictures and sharing the last crumbs of Christmas cookies and tea, you will end the tour in Elektrėnai. The city also celebrated its 60th birthday last year. The Christmas tree was decorated with thousands of different colored lights. The entire Elektrėnai Town Square was also colorfully decorated and a note - WISHES was placed next to the tree.
