Pažaislis Monastery - lunch - Čiurlionis Museum – Stumbras degustation

You will start your sightseeing tour at the Pažaislis Church and Monastery ensemble. This complex of buildings is known as the pearl of the Baroque and is described as one of the finest and most mature examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. It houses one of the most modern museums in Lithuania, surprising not only for its religious treasures, but also for the very attractive and modern way in which it presents them. Guided tour with a local guide.

You will continue your journey by bus to the National M. K. Čiurlionis Museum of Art. Founded in 1921, it is one of the oldest and largest art museums in Lithuania. It is the only place in the world where almost the entire creative legacy of the most famous Lithuanian painter, composer, writer and public figure, M. K. Čiurlionis (1875-1911), is collected. You will take part in a guided tour of the genius paintings and graphic works of the Lithuanian artist on display in the premises of the M.K. Čiurlionis Gallery, and listen to recordings of Čiurlionis' music in the Music Hall. You will also see medieval treasures, interior and clothing attributes, the oldest and most valuable Gothic Madonnas, Bretkūnas' Postilė and other extremely rare and preserved works in the exhibitions.

At the end of the bus tour, you will visit the first and only strong alcohol museum in Lithuania, where you will learn about the history of the factory: the old production machines, archival documents and photographs. The museum displays bottles, labels and awards from different periods... You will also visit the factory itself, learn about the filtration process and see the distillery and liqueur production workshops. The tour is guided by an expert and the production curiosities will definitely be explained. The tour is followed by a degustation.

 

Price of the sightseeing trip by bus – from  120 € (the cost of the trip is for 16 people, if the number of participants decreases, then the cost per person increases.
